ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of men's and women's basketball. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for by UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon.
After leading the Vikings to two more wins this week, Haley Sandin, junior - guard - Zimmerman, Minn., was named the UMAC women's basketball player of the week. Sandin had a great week for the Vikings in which she averaged 27.5 points, seven assists, and 3.5 steals per game. The Vikings are now 4-0 on the season and look to keep the momentum going with a game on Tuesday at Waldorf University. The Vikings defeated Waldorf in their season opener in Mankato, 89-67.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Timothy Wendel, So., Crown
Montivideo, Uraguay/Club Malvin
-Led Crown to a non-conference win over Cornell
-Tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards
-Added three steals and two assists
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Sandin, Jr., Bethany Lutheran
Zimmerman, Minn./Princeton
-Helped Bethany Lutheran improve to 4-0 to start the season
-Scored 30 points and tallied nine assists vs. Dakota State
-Recorded 25 points, five assists and five steals vs. Central
