Women:
The women's outdoor track & field team finished fourth overall, only 22 points behind UW-Superior. The 97 total points recorded in the UMAC championship is currently best in program history, 40 points higher than any previous conference appearance. Â On the weekend, there were 13 athletes who helped score either in relays or individual performances for head coach Michael Dunn. Leading the way was the Marzinske sisters,
Danielle and
Kari, along with
Lydia Hildebrandt and
Anna Lieske.
Â
"It is so hard to single out certain athletes who highlighted the women's team today, because so many of the teammates went above and beyond with their performances this weekend at the UMAC championship," stated Michael Dunn. "The women's team beat three other teams in the championship this season, which is also best in program history."
Â
Men:
The men's team finished tied for fifth out of eight teams with 45 total points. The team throughout the season saw several school records and personal records set, which is a positive sign for the Bethany men's track & field team.
Â
"Like the women's team, I am very proud of each and every student-athlete that put on a Bethany uniform this weekend," stated Dunn. "These guys came to practice each day, wanting to get better and perform to their best of their ability, and after this weekend's meet, they should be very proud of their accomplishments.
Â
Up next:
A handful of the men's and women's outdoor track & field athletes will travel to Wisconsin-La Crosse next weekend for the Last Chance meet.
