Box Score DULUTH, Minn. - The Bethany baseball team returned to the same field Thursday where they just finished the regular season five days prior, Wade Stadium in Duluth, for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Postseason Baseball Tournament. The Vikings opponent was the same, as well, in St. Scholastica with the same outcome as last weekend's three games, a Saints victory.
After St. Scholastica scored first with a pair of runs in the second, Bethany countered with a run in the third to cut the deficit in half.Â
Clay Anderson andÂ
Danny Kneeland walked to lead off the inning. Two batters later,Â
Lucas Herd singled to load the bases in front ofÂ
Adam Geiger's sacrifice fly.
The Saints scored once in the third and five more in the fourth to take command and would take the game 13-3 in eight innings.
Two more games were scheduled for Thursday, but inclement weather forced postponement until Friday. Bethany will face Northwestern in an elimination at noon with the winner moving on to face the loser of the St. Scholastica-Northland matchup (scheduled for 3 p.m.) at 6 p.m.
