One head coach, six track and field athletes, and one tennis player earned All-UMAC honors for their efforts in track and field or tennis for the 2013 spring sports season.
David Ring was voted Women's Track and Field Coach of the Year. Ring guided the Vikings through the school's first year as a track and field program. The women's team finished fourth at the UMAC Outdoor Track and Field championships in Morris.
Deon Wright (Milwaukee, Wis./Messmer) had a great showing for the men at the outdoor championships to garner an All-Conference selection. He won the long jump with a leap of 21-5.25. His time of 11.27 in the 100 meter dash placed him second. He was on the 4x100 team that finished second at 45.92 and he placed seventh in the 200 meter dash at 23.82.
Clint Spitzer (St. Charles, Minn./St. Charles) teamed with Wright on the 4x100 relay and was on the 4x800 squad that also placed second to gain All-Conference recognition.
The women's 4x800 team of Emma Fager (Mankato, Minn./Mankato East), Steph Koepp (Glencoe, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake), Breanne Perlwitz (Waldorf, Iowa/Prairie), and Alissa Sauer (Lismore, Minn./Adrian) won their event and were named All-UMAC.
The women's track and field team won the Team Sportsmanship Award with Fager recognized as the team's individual sportsmanship honoree. Spitzer was selected for the men's team.
Rebecca Kopacek (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) was the lone Bethany representative on the All-Conference tennis team.
The senior was designated as the No. 1 player all season long for both singles and doubles and won four matches each in singles and doubles for the spring season.
Rebecca Grove (Rochester, Minn./Century) and Paul Riediger (West Salem, Wis./Onalaska Lutheran) won the team's individual sportmanship award for their respective tennis teams.
