Mankato, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) All-Conference Awards for softball were announced today with four Bethany Lutheran student-athletes receiving honors.
First Team All-Conference winners wereEmily Rauchman(Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) and Ashley Jensen(Delano, Minn./West Lutheran). Rauchman finished the season leading the team hitting a .394 batting average. She also had a team and conference high 18 doubles on the season. Jensen wasn’t far behind batting .367 with nine doubles, two triples, and four home runs. Both of BLC’s First Team All-Conference representatives are currently sophomores.
All-Conference Honorable Mention winners were freshman Gena Chester (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) and juniorAmanda Edmison (Mayer, Minn./Watertown-Mayer). The Vikings lead off hitter Chester batted .356 this season and had a team high 48 hits. Edmison batted .302 and also led the team in pitching with a 3.00 ERA. In 17 appearances Edmison had seven complete games holding her opponents to a .283 batting average.
This year marks the first time Bethany Lutheran had four representatives on the All-Conference list, the most in the softball program’s history.
